Before you arrive

You may want to think of any questions you have for and if there is anything you would like more information about. Please plan to arrive between 10 and 15 minutes early to fill out new client paperwork. This includes a detailed intake form and an informed consent form. If you are a returning client, plan to arrive a few minutes early so there is enough time for our verbal intake.

Our office is located just off the corner of South Broadway and Arkansas Avenue near the Platt Park neighborhood and just off of "Antique Row." Free street parking is available on S. Broadway, Arkansas, and the other surrounding side streets. Be sure to pay attention to any time limitations + street sweeping days.

We hold this time especially for you - out of professional courtesy to your therapist, we require 24 hours notice when cancelling or rescheduling your appointment.

That said - life happens!  In the event of things like emergency, illness, or inclement weather, or other events out of your control - please call us at 720-583-3614 so we can work it out.

** Late cancellations and missed appointments are subject to a cancellation fee.  Your credit card on file will be charged accordingly. Read our full Cancellation Policy here **

At the beginning of your session

You will begin by completing a detailed intake form. In some instances, certain herbal remedies or massage may be inadvisable, so it is important to answer all questions as detailed as possible. Furthermore, permission from your healthcare provider may be required prior to starting any herbal or massage therapies.

Once you complete your initial paperwork, and on all subsequent appointments, we will head to the treatment room for a quick “plática,” or talk, about how you are doing, any questions you may have, and what your goals are for this appointment.

For massage sessions, once your goals have been established for the session, we will leave you to get settled, disrobe, and to get comfortable on the table. You will always be given privacy to disrobe and get on the table, and you will be instructed to get under the top sheet and/or blanket, so you will always be covered. Furthermore, you only need to undress to your level of comfort. While many massage techniques are traditionally performed with the client unclothed, it is entirely up to you what you would like to wear. You will be properly draped during the entire session and only the area being worked on will be exposed. When we make our plan for the session, we will discuss what areas you would like to work on and whether or not you would like a full-body session or just work on specific areas. Typically, a full body session includes work on your back, arms, legs, hands, neck, and shoulders. Work on the head, feet, chest, abdominal, and/or glute areas can be included at your request. We will always try to ask, but do not hesitate to let us know if there are any areas you do not wish to be massaged.

Your herbal consultation will consist of almost entirely “la plática.” You'll be asked to walk us through what is going on in your life, what may be affecting your mind, body, & spirit, and what your goals are. Towards the end of your session, we will talk about how herbal medicine and lifestyle changes may be beneficial in attaining your goals. From there we will make a treatment plan together. Some remedies may be ready for you at the time of your consultation, if not; however, we will also make a plan for getting those to you. Remember: Your health is in your own hands, the information provided in these sessions is purely educational and if you choose to use the herbs on yourself you do so under your own responsibility.

For your massage session, once you are settled on the table, the most important thing you need to do is to make yourself comfortable! Please let us know if you need more or less pressure, another blanket, if you have questions about the technique being used, or anything else that may be relevant to your session. We will let you know if we need anything (i.e. lifting your arm) or we may gently move you. Other than that, you are free to close your eyes and be in your body. And if you'd like to talk, that's great, too!

At the end of your consultation, we will check out in the waiting room area, make a plan for you to get your herbal remedies, and discuss any further steps or follow ups. We will discuss any safety considerations prior to the start of an herbal protocol, but please let us know if you have any questions, or if concerns arise.

At the end of your massage session, we will leave you to take your time to get up and simply feel the effects of your session. There will be a glass of water for you in the waiting area, where we'll discuss how you're feeling post-session, check out, and make a plan about scheduling any future sessions.

Please note, we accept all the following as forms of payment: cash, check, and card.

After your session, you may feel relaxed and “slowed down.” After that initial “slow-mo” period, you may experience increased energy, heightened awareness, and greater productivity. Please also note, with deeper work, it is not uncommon to be sore for a few days after. Always ask if you have any questions about how you are feeling after your session.
